Mr. Paul Beverly
Executive Vice-President
Corporate Marketing & President North America
Gemalto, Inc. www.gemalto.com Paris: GTO.PA
SecurityStockWatch.com: Thank you for joining us today, Paul. We understand that you began your career with Schlumberger. Please give us an overview of your background and your role at Gemalto.
Paul Beverly: I joined Schlumberger in 1985 as a marketing manager and remain now with Gemalto which was formed as a result of a spin-off and merger. I have been responsible for international management, marketing, operations, sales and corporate strategy in a variety of roles around the world. From 1999-2003, I was a vice president for Schlumberger in North America, also serving as chairman of the Smart Card Alliance. From April 2003 until June 2006, I was president of the Americas. My career in Gemalto is evidence of one of the things that make Gemalto a great place to work—its international scope and diverse business lines.
Today, as the EVP of marketing and president of Gemalto North America, I am responsible for raising awareness and appreciation of our company and solutions worldwide. I oversee communication, branding and investor relations activities. Specific to my role in North America, I am focused on leading our team while identifying and developing opportunities for growth within the region.
We are in a very dynamic industry and an important part of my role is making sure we are listening to our customers. Gemalto has a highly developed and comprehensive customer-focused strategy. In order to capitalize on the many great opportunities they bring us, one of my most important roles is to manage a best-in-class feedback program to identify and prioritize the needs of our blue-chip customer base.
