“Gemalto is the world's largest epassport supplier, according to the Keesing Journal of Identity. We provide U.S. epassports, for example, but also do many types of other programs all over the world such as supplying national e-ID cards for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, serving as the prime contractor for the Electronic Health Card program in Gabon and providing driver's licenses in Queensland, Australia.” These are among the insights discussed with Mr. Neville Pattinson, Vice President of Standards and Government Affairs, Gemalto North America (www.gemalto.com, Paris: GTO.PA). Mr. Robert R. Tibbling, Director of Business Development-End User Markets, ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions, (www.ASSAABLOYDSS.com, Other OTC: ASAZF.PK , Stockholm ASSA-B.ST) told us, “ Doorways fill a critical role in the overall functionality of a building by serving as both a conduit to safety and a barrier against threats. History shows that in emergency situations, a properly functioning doorway can be the difference between life and death. Given this immense responsibility for protecting life, it makes sense to have standards that set thresholds a product must meet in order to be used on an opening; you wouldn’t want a non-fire rated lock, for example, used on a fire-rated doorway. Today, there are standards in place that set criteria for everything from product life cycle to impact resistance. All of the standards are designed to protect building occupants and help create a well-functioning facility.”

And, Ms. Laura E. Owen, President, ICOP Digital, Inc. (www.icop.com) (NASDAQ: ICOP ), said, "We were pleased by the vote of confidence expressed by the Billings, Montana Police Department by placing this $244,000 order, our largest to date for the ICOP 20/20 VISION™. We believe this validates the strength of our laptop-operated product and paves the way for future success for this solution. We are also very encouraged to see Stimulus Funds beginning to flow to agencies, allowing them to move forward with planned purchases. Our timeliness in getting in front of these programs to assist agencies with applying for funds is paying off for us now." Mr. Mark Barry, President, GE Security (Americas), told us, “We do have a broad portfolio of offerings. In the past year year we've been working hard on making products interoperable so that we can deliver total solutions to our customers. You mentioned the broad categories, we tend to think of products in a matrix that includes four columns (Intrusion, Fire, Access, and Video) and three rows (high end, mid tier, and mass market). One of our goals is to have industry leading product solutions in each of the categories.”

Steven Sprague, President and CEO of Wave Systems, said, "Having achieved year-over-year and quarterly growth in our software licensing sales, despite ongoing challenges in tech sector spending, Wave was able to report total net revenue of $4.8 million in Q3 '09, as well as record total billings of $5.2 million. Of equal importance, Wave achieved positive EBITDAS for the second straight quarter. We continue to see encouraging interest in our EMBASSY security solutions for managing self-encrypting hard drives. Shipments of our EMBASSY Trusted Drive Manager with self-encrypting drives sold by our OEM customers increased 42 percent in Q3 '09 versus Q2 '09. While the shipment volumes remain relatively modest, we are pleased with our continued progress on this front.”
"In Q3 '09, our billings attributable to upgrades to our EMBASSY Remote Administration Server (ERAS) grew 98 percent over Q2 '09. We completed ERAS upgrade sales across market segments in the U.S. and Europe, including advertising, aerospace, construction, finance, government, healthcare, IT, legal, non-profit, utilities and telecommunications. In addition, we completed an installation of EMBASSY software for the management of Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs) to strengthen the security of user certificates for one of the world's largest professional services firms. Finally, we recently reported a $1.6 million professional services contract from a U.S. government agency which followed an earlier $786,000 services contract completed in Q3 '09. We continue to actively support their review and analysis of trusted computing solutions."

It has become nearly a cliche to say that 2009 has been a difficult year," said Peter L. Murdoch, President and CEO of Sentry Technology Corporation. "Despite lower sales due to reduced customer budgets, several new RFID products for libraries have been introduced and recently a contract was signed with an engineering firm to design an improved version of our SmartTrack traveling camera system. Significant cuts have been made to fixed costs and we are operating at near EBITDA breakeven. Having weathered the storm, we see improvements in the current business environment and a growing market opportunity for our new RFID library products and video management software." |
