"Cisco takes a holistic approach to security for critical infrastructure
protection, such as energy supply. This includes mitigating cyberattacks
and responding to threats, as well controlling access to sites and
monitoring energy facilities. Video surveillance is a key element
of any security plan, since energy producers commonly face threats
like vandalism and theft. Many companies install a Cisco Physical
Security solution on an Internet Protocol-based network to monitor
assets with real-time video surveillance, and this video can be
integrated with physical access controls. Cisco solutions can also
help companies centralize the management of their security systems,
saving money and enabling faster incident responses."
These are among the highlights in our thought leadership interview
with Ms. Laura Ipsen, Senior Vice President and General Manager,
Cisco Connected Energy Group, www.Cisco.com.

Mr. Bill Taylor, President, Panasonic System Networks Company of
America, told us, Our new i-PRO SmartHD network cameras feature
high-definition (HD) image quality and exquisite color reproduction
using lower bandwidth. The six new models also incorporate the Panasonic
UniPhier System LSI chip (H.264 high-profile format) to combine
high-definition video and real-time video streaming (up to 30 inches
per second) at a lower data size. A new 1.3-megapixel MOS image
sensor enables high sensitivity (0.3 lux in color) and lower power
consumption. The camera series includes both IP box cameras and
fixed IP domes, including models that are vandal-resistant and meet
international IP66 standards for dust and moisture resistance. The
i-PRO SmartHD cameras are capable of detecting faces automatically,
even in high-contrast lighting situations, and when paired with
our NV200 recorder, enable real-time face matching based on previously
analyzed images.

Dr. Juergen Pampus, VP Sales & Marketing, Cognitec Systems,
said "One of our partners in Canada has introduced video cameras
in several stores of a large retail chain. These cameras provide
input to our software which constantly scans the video for known
shoplifters whose photos have been stored in a watch list database.
Once identified, an alert is raised to the store manager. Another
Canadian partner has deployed a similar solution in a number of
casinos in Ontario where problem gamblers are automatically identified."

Videx will be unveiling the CyberLock Flex System “Door and I/O Module” for the first time at ASIS 2011.
James McGowan, Videx VP of Sales and Marketing, shares, “In the first quarter of 2011 we introduced the new
CyberLock Flex System family of access modules that set the foundation for bridging the gap between hardwired
and key-centric security solutions. We are excited about the new Door and I/O Module because it extends all
the benefits of our award-winning CyberLock solution to hardwired door systems.”
What sets the new Flex System Door and I/O Module apart from other
door controllers on the market is its ability to greatly expand
the capabilities of legacy hardwired systems. A Door and I/O Module
installation can be done at a fraction of what it would cost to
replace all or even part of an original system. For example, schools
with older door control systems would certainly benefit. With the
Flex System Door and I/O Module, a school can affordably gain all
the access features of the CyberLock system such as brisk communications,
location graphics, pre-programmed access scheduling by the door
and person, audit reporting of key activity and lock openings, email
alerts, and more.
McGowan says, Whats also exciting is the Door and I/O
Module can activate a variety of relay-based devices from electric
door strikes to security cameras and remote alarms that prompt a
security response. In addition, it can receive input from Request
to Exit (RTE) and Wiegand compatible access devices as well
as door sensors. Behind the scenes is the CyberLock Flex System
Hub that communicates between the Flex System modules, other input
and output devices, and the system software. The robust software
structure has built-in communications for interoperating with not
only with the Flex System modules, but other Wiegand access devices
and existing hardwired systems.

Wave Systems Corp. ( NASDAQ:WAVX)
announced that it will join industry experts, government authorities
and academics presenting at the NASDAQ:
National Security Agency's 2nd Annual Trusted Computing Conference
, September 20th - 22nd at the Caribe Royal Hotel in Orlando, FL.
The conference provides a unique forum for those interested in how
trusted computing technologies can improve the security of sensitive
data, enterprise networks and critical applications. Wave Systems'
customer PricewaterhouseCoopers will also present a session on leveraging
Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs) for authentication and key security.
"Wave is honored to participate in this one-of-a-kind event for the second year in a row,"
said Wave CEO Steven Sprague. "This event demonstrates NSA's commitment to cybersecurity,
especially in a time of rapidly-changing threats that demand innovation and collaboration
from all players. Wave is pleased to contribute to this discussion and looks forward to
working with other participants to help advance NSA's mission."
Defending sensitive networks and information from unauthorized access presents a key challenge
in the face of these growing threats. But as recent high-profile breaches have shown, user
credentials and tokens alone aren't enough to secure the network. In his Wednesday session,
"Mitigating Today's Most Pervasive Cyber Threats with Device Identification," Sprague will outline
how the TPM, a security chip attached to a computer's motherboard, can establish automatic and
transparent authentication of known network devices and users. Because the TPM chip is physically
part of the device, it is uniquely suited for creating and verifying strong device identities and
ensuring only authorized access to networks.
And, for Wave’s new “white paper” regarding Network Security: How
to Defend an Infinitely Expanding Frontier please click here: www.wave.com/collateral/03-000273_TPM-SED_whitepaper.pdf.
Wave Q2 Software Licensing Net Revenues Rose 31% to Record $8.1M.
"Throughout Q2, there were a number of high-profile network
and data breaches on the global stage. The most significant of these
was the compromise of a leading security token solution relied upon
by a large number of Fortune 500 enterprises," commented Steven
Sprague. "As these kinds of events continue to occur and receive
broad media attention, we have seen an increase in interest and
activity in trusted computing solutions.
"On the financial side, I'm pleased to report that we once
again extended our track record of year-over-year and sequential
quarterly growth in the second quarter. Given the new global focus
on cyber security and related concerns over the efficacy of proprietary,
software-only solutions, we've chosen to expand our investments
in maintaining our leadership position in the trusted computing
space at a time when we believe that many governments and enterprises
are re-examining their network and data security protocols. We believe
that there will continue to be receptivity to new approaches to
security, such as those offered by Wave.
"But there remains much work to be done in communicating the
security and ROI benefits of 'off the shelf' trusted computing solutions.
We are deploying substantial resources in sales and marketing to
help promote this message internationally, with a particular focus
on North America and on expanding our presence in the EMEA regions.
In addition, Wave will participate in the 2nd Annual
NSA
Trusted Computing Conference and Exposition September
20-22 in Orlando, FL, a forum sponsored by the NSA to educate public
and private sector IT professionals on trusted computing solutions
and how they are being used with success."

Mr. Evan Scott, President, ESGI - Executive Search Consultants, told
us, "The interesting thing about our business is that the demand for
talent typically follows where companies think the government will
be spending money. For instance, this year we have handled CEO searches
for services clients and heads of business development for services,
consulting and product companies. The area where the government will
spend money is in security, physical, cyber and information management.
There is a lot of attention being paid to the INTEL community and
Health Care,IT. This includes electronic medical records and other
technologies to help with the care of our veterans. For the complete

Bill Bozeman, President/CEO of PSA, told us, "It is extremely
important for integrators to know those entities who specify projects
in their market area. In addition to maintaining awareness of both
existing and forthcoming projects, an integrator can establish his
organization as a valuable resource to the specifier. The integrator
