Mr. Fred L. Marion
President
Surveillance & Reconnaissance Group DRS Technologies
(NYSE: DRS)

Mr. Bruce Davis Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Digimarc Corporation
(NASDAQ:DMRC)

Dear Friends of SecurityStockWatch.com,

With respect to Homeland Security, we have teamed with the Boeing Company and proposed a solution to the Customs and Border Protection for the SBInet Program. The SBInet program is designed to protect more than 6,000 miles of US southern and northern land borders including the Great Lakes. This comprehensive system provides an architecture to Predict, Deter, Detect, Identify, Classify, Respond, Detain and Remove border violators. At the same time we are developing some advanced technology to create a very robust capability to meet the border security mission with much better performance than anything available today. “These are among the topics discussed by Mr. Fred L. Marion, President, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Group, DRS Technologies (NYSE: DRS). The entire interview is available here.

Mr. Alexander von Mueffling, Managing Director, Bentley Associates L.P, told us, “The consolidation trend in the security industry will continue both within verticals and across security sectors. Historically, security was relatively simple: keep someone, or something out, or keep someone or something in. Today, the definition of security has become proactive and so wide with new security needs emerging every day and therefore a slew of new companies continuously offering new solutions. Security no longer is a compartmentalized issue and instead is thriving on consolidating different functions. Security also used to be a secretive business, typically government related departments, or agencies were involved with funding or promoting certain security technologies. Today, that is very different and the private sector is funding many of those new companies, whilst government R&D funding continues to flow to universities and think tanks. It is also clear that the government can no longer alone provide all security needs, and as a result we are seeing more and more public-private partnerships; the government sets the standards and private industry implements the commercialization. The entire interview is available here.

Digimarc Corporation (NASDAQ: DMRC) announced August 4th that its Canadian-based operation, Digimarc ID Systems Canada Co., has won four new customers -- the four Provinces of Canada's Atlantic region -- under contracts valued at an estimated USD $16 million (CDN $18 Million) to develop, deploy and maintain a new secure digital driver license issuance solution for the region.
